“Hey, what did you send me?”
These five words wield significant power as a powerful anti-phishing tool, safeguarding both your business and your data. Your intuition serves as your most reliable ally, and that link in your inbox that gave you pause did so for a reason. The unexpected encrypted message, the voicemail without a preceding call, the unfamiliar report name – these are all signals prompting you to question their legitimacy.
Take a moment to pause and ask, "Hey, what did you send me?" Initiate contact with the sender to verify any suspicious document, file, or link. Avoid responding directly to the email; instead, opt for alternative communication methods such as a call, text, or instant message. This simple act requires minimal time and can prevent the compromise of your credentials or other sensitive information. Ensuring with 100% confidence what you are clicking on is the only surefire way to protect yourself, your company, and your data. |

When adding content to your website, it's crucial to consider your target audience – whether it's your membership, staff, prospective members, or a global audience. The key is to remember that you're not creating content for yourself but for the end-users. We are excited to share usability tips with clients who regularly update their website content. Your primary focus should be on the end-users, as they are the reason for your updates.
In the process of selecting text, layouts, charts, images, or processes, prioritize options that minimize cognitive effort for the end-user. In today's fast-paced digital environment, users are often in a hurry. The less they need to think, the more they will appreciate your content and view your website positively.
Ideally, when users interact with your page, you want them to think: "Okay, here is the information I need. I have to do this. And this feature accomplishes that. Confirmation received. Task completed." |
|
This makes them say, “OK!” This makes them think (& go away)
|
|
If users find your content challenging to comprehend, they are likely to leave and seek alternatives. Our goal is to assist you in preventing such scenarios. We pride ourselves on being a helpful resource and aim to ensure your end-users have a positive experience with your content. Feel free to reach out for any questions or suggestions to enhance your site.
Stay tuned for more usability tips in our upcoming newsletters. |

This month we will be giving back to the Northern Illinois Food Bank. If you have been following our newsletters, you know that our team regularly volunteers at the food bank and many of us are passionate about their mission. With the rising costs of food, the difficulty of providing healthy meals for struggling families increases. The Northern Illinois food bank's mission is to provide nutritious food and resources for our neighbors, with dignity, equity, and convenience, through partnerships and innovation. They focus on delivering food and healthy eating services to the Northern Illinois community. As part of the national Feeding America network, they serve our neighbors in 13 counties by providing 250,000 meals per day. If you would like to contribute to the cause please click the links below or reach out to us to join in on one of our upcoming volunteer sessions.

We're excited to share that NiUG is now officially named the iMIS Users Group! |
Born as the National iMIS Users Group, NiUG has long since expanded beyond one country. Using "NiUG" as our name eliminated the "National," but not the question, "What does the N stand for?"
To better describe who we are and what we do, we have changed our name to "iMIS Users Group" - or "iUG" for short.
We're excited to bring you this new name and new look, all indicative of one thing that is not changing - our dedication to providing you with the best iMIS knowledge, networking and community spirit available.
We'd love to know what you think - hop over to the iMISInsider Community to let us know.
Thank you for your continued support! |
