What recent tech purchase has changed your day-to-day life? |
Association Forum interviewed the speakers at SmartTech 2022 about what recent tech purchases made a difference in their lives. AT's Ben Kalkwarf said:
"I recently purchased a RocketBook for notetaking and have found it to be very useful. A Rocketbook is essentially a regular spiral notebook, but the pages can be erased like a whiteboard, so you are not generating reams of paper garbage from all of your meeting notes and To Do lists. The Rocketbook app makes it easy to upload notes into other applications where they can be organized, such as Evernote, OneNote, DropBox and Google Drive."

Lisa graduated from Northern Illinois University with a major in marketing and a minor in communications. Her first career was an 18 year journey with Enterprise working her way up from management trainee to area manager then moving into operations and becoming the regional operations manager. She loved all the people at Enterprise and actually met her husband Chris there as well. After Enterprise, she worked at Painters USA as an operations manager and general manager. Lisa was introduced to AT through a close friend from college who used to be an AT client. She is the office manager and does a little bit of everything at AT from procurement and accounts receivable to producing the newsletter and working on the new website which will be unveiled next month. She enjoys the variety in each day, likes interacting with the clients and appreciates the family atmosphere at AT.
Outside of work, Lisa enjoys spending time with family and friends. Lisa and Chris have two daughters, Olivia who is finishing up her first year at University of South Carolina and Abby who is a junior in high school. The Kulig family is completed by an extremely lovable cockapoo named Lambeau. Both girls have always been very active in sports so the family spends a lot of time cheering from the sidelines. This summer they are going on multiple trips around the Midwest to watch Abby play basketball with the Illinois Evolution and hope to squeeze in a few college tours as well. Lisa was the social chair of her sorority and assumes that role with many of the sports teams by coordinating group outings and also takes pictures of the games and activities.
And now a few questions to get to know a little more about Lisa:
Three fun facts about Lisa:
- The Kulig family is working on visiting all the MLB Ballparks, Lisa's current count is 21.
- Lisa can't say no to a volunteer opportunity and and has had many roles at various organizations along with being the PTA president and has coached multiple sports including 7 years coaching cheer (a sport she never actually did herself).
- Lisa is still very close to five of her sorority sisters from college and recently went on a trip to San Antonio to celebrate their 50th birthdays.
Favorite Foods: Her all time favorite food that she doesn't get very often is crab legs and her favorite snack is chips and guacamole or salsa.
What is the most important thing you've learned in the last five years: Slow down and cherish the moments and to prioritize family and friends.
Favorite Movie: Princess Bride
What would you do for a career if you weren't doing this: She originally thought she wanted to be a teacher so probably that or some kind of event planning.
Where would you like to travel to: Australia and New Zealand
Favorite vacation spots: She's never been on a bad vacation but she loves the beach or exploring new places with family or friends
Photos L to R: The family in Folly Beach, Lambeau, Abby and Olivia and the family at the NCAA basketball game cheering on the Gamecocks
