For associations that were prepared, the pandemic offered an opportunity. Those with the right tools in place, rapidly reached a turning point accurately described as digital transformation. The pandemic accelerated trends. The move to operating in a digital environment was the most significant of these trends: digital transformation became crucial to survival. For associations, it became the key to continuing to succeed in their central mission – the engagement of members – with remarkably positive outcomes, while also providing a blueprint for continued success.
Raphael Badagliacca, hosts a panel of association technology experts to discuss in practical terms what it means to transform digitally. Panelists: Teri Carden of ReviewMyAMS.com, Michelle Lelempsis of Causeis, Randy Richter of Association Technology Solutions and Jeff Spring of ASI.

Steve grew up in Romeo, Michigan (north of Detroit) and graduated from high school in Mountain Top, Pennsylvania in 1979. He then moved to Illinois and chose to attend Northern Illinois University. Steve graduated from NIU with a BA in Economics and a minor in Journalism.
He was living back in Michigan selling industrial tools in 2000 when he met Mary, an ICU nurse at the hospital where Steve was visiting his grandfather in Sandwich, Illinois. Steve and Mary began a long distance relationship which continued for a couple years with them meeting in Kalamazoo on weekends. Ultimately, Steve proposed to Mary, moved to Sandwich and took his first IT job with Network System Technologies as a consultant assisting many customers with migrations from NT4 domains to Active Directory and Exchange upgrades and migrations. After 5 years he moved to the IT department at Menzies Aviation which services the airlines at O'Hare. When Menzies wanted Steve to transfer to Dallas he saw an ad for a position at AT and joined the AT family in 2013. He enjoys working with the team at AT, he has worked with good people in the past but has never had a team like this. The smart, caring and close knit group has given him the opportunity to grow both technically and personally. Steve says ' you don't turn your back on something as special as this'. Steve's responsibilities at AT include managing all the Macs, handling customer support, supporting our backup monitoring and assisting many clients.
Outside of work, Steve and Mary have a beagle named Freddy and a 21 year old cat named Cagney. He loves classic rock and technically proficient guitar players. Steve enjoys riding his motorcycle (fast), spending weekends at their campsite in Woodhaven Lakes and playing video games, his favorite game is Borderlands. He is also a proud grandfather to ten year old Sofia who plays hockey and is a black belt in karate.
And now a few questions to get to know a little more about Steve:
Five fun facts about Steve:
- He had horses growing up and broke his first horse at 14.
- He didn't own a computer until 1998 when he became interested in video games and ended up building his own gaming computer. He found that building it was more fun than gaming and the rest is history.
- Steve wrote a novel about werewolves which is set in Northern Michigan.
- Steve loves guitars and motorcycles, he used to be a technically proficient player and played fast and although he has slowed down he still loves to play
- He is a history buff and his favorite era was the American Civil War.
If he wasn't working at AT he would be: Steve would be trying to get his novel published and maybe work on writing a second one.
Favorite place: Drummond Island, Michigan -he visited as a kid and loves the pristine wilderness, rocky shores, lake and wildlife, it's a beautiful area
Favorite movie: Apocalypse Now
Best book he has ever read: Return of the King by J.R.R. Tolkien (the third book in the Lord of the Rings trilogy)
If he could interview anyone alive or dead: He would choose either Jesus Christ or Jimmy Page

ASAE: Women in Association Leadership Online Seminar Series |
It can take a lot of time and practice for someone to become an effective leader. Additionally, women in leadership roles often face workplace discrimination and unconscious biases from colleagues or even their organization’s culture, making it even more challenging to succeed as a leader.
Increasing numbers of women are obtaining leadership roles, in the for-profit world but particularly in associations. It’s a great start, but society still has a long way to go to achieve equity for women in management, and there are aspects of leadership that many women still struggle with.
This four-part seminar series will cover a number of essential leadership skills that are targeted to either help association women move into leadership roles or to help women already in leadership roles have greater impact, broader influence, and thrive. This series is specifically designed to support and cultivate high-performing, high-potential women executives from the association community. |
